GREEN COVE SPRINGS -- A 42-year-old Maxville woman was arrested within hours after being caught on surveillance tape trying to rob money from a CVS Pharmacy store on Blanding Boulevard in Middleburg.

Cheryl Lynn Closson was taken into custody about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29 at 2640 Sapp Lane in Clay County and charged with unarmed robbery after witnesses told investigators that Closson left the CVS store at 2762 Blanding Blvd. in a tan pickup truck, according to a Clay County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report said Closson entered the store about 8:15 p.m. and grabbed $150 in cash from a register after pushing a store clerk out of the way. The woman also implied that she had a weapon by holding her hand inside her shorts pocket, according to the report.

Deputies made the arrest after learning that Closson was at the Sapp Lane address.
