Following is the latest Clay County Crime Watch report issued by the Clay County Sheriff's Office Community Relations Unit:
Robbery Unarmed:
On 03/09 a victim was walking to Jefferson Kangaroo on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park when he observed an unknown black male walking towards him. The victim felt a tug on his leather jacket that he was carrying. Before the victim could turn around, the jacket was snatched from his grasp and the suspect fled and was running east on Jefferson Avenue.
Thefts:
On 03/09 pieces of an outside air/heat pump unit were stolen from a residence on Beloit Avenue (HIGHRIDGE ESTATES) in Keystone Heights.
On 03/09 a Florida license was stolen from a trailer in the yard of a residence on McClelland Road in Maxville.
On 03/09 a Florida tag was stolen from a disabled truck parked on State Road 100 in Melrose Station.
On 03/11 a license plate was stolen from a customer’s vehicle at Bonnie’s Automotive on State Road 21.
Burglary to Structures:
On 03/09 The Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on County Road 226 in Green Cove Springs was burglarized. The office door window was broken, but nothing was missing.
On 03/09 several tools were stolen from a tool box in a storage unit on Wells road in Orange Park. The lock securing the overhead was missing.
On 03/10 a window in the café of the Faith First Community Church on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park was broken. Nothing was missing from the structure but a container of food from the kitchen was consumed.
On 03/11 an attempted burglary was made at the Amvets Post 86 on Brooklyn Bay Road in Keystone Heights. An unknown person tried to enter the business by pushing on a window Air conditioning unit in the kitchen.
On 03/11 two (2) dvd players and a playstation were stolen from a residence on Tanglewood Boulevard in Orange Park. There were no signs of forced entry.
Burglary to Autos:
On 03/09 a wallet was stolen from an unlocked pickup truck at a residence on Dover Bluff Drive in Orange Park.
On 03/09 a wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a residence on Hearthside Court (OAKLEAF PLANTATION) in Orange Park.
On 03/10 a garage door opener was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Pinecrest Drive (EAGLE HARBOR) in Orange Park.
On 03/10 a Bazooka Amplifier was stolen from a pickup truck at a residence on South Palmetto Avenue in Green Cove Springs. Entry was made by smashing the rear window.
On 03/11 several items and fuel were stolen from a towed semi in a lot on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park/
On 03/11 a purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the business of Wendy’s on Highway 17
Criminal Mischief:
On 03/09 the front windshield was smashed on a vehicle at a residence on Dennis Drive (LAKESIDE ESTATES) in Orange Park.
On 03/09 the front bumper was damaged on a vehicle at a residence on Wildberry Court (SPENCERS CROSSING) in Orange Park.
On 03/09 the driver’s side rear window was smashed on a vehicle in the parking lot of American Dental Care on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park
On 03/10 a window was smashed on a vehicle at a residence on Independence Drive in Orange Park.
On 03/10 a window on a van was shattered by a beer bottle in the driveway of a residence on Summerfield Court in Orange Park.
On 03/11 a motorcycle was pushed over in the parking lot of The Roadhouse Bar on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park.
On 03/11 a mail box was damaged at a residence on Clermont Avenue (BELLAIR) in Orange Park.
On 03/11 a van was “keyed” along the tailgate from tail light to tail light in the Orange Park Mall parking lot on Wells Road in Orange Park.
Attempted Robbery Unarmed:
On 03/06 around noon, a man approached a woman as she was riding home on a motorized wheelchair towards State Road 100 in Keystone Heights. The woman was hit on the head and the man grabbed a plastic bag containing items that just bought at a store. The bag broke and the items fell to the ground. When the woman got out of the wheelchair, the man ran away west down a bike trail.
Thefts:
On 03/03 unsecured fishing rods and reels were stolen from a boat in the carport of a residence on Southwest Garden Street in Keystone Heights.
On 03/03 an unsecured bicycle was stolen from in front of a residence on Tall Cedars Road in Orange Park.
On 03/03 a wallet was stolen from an unlocked desk drawer at the Life Care Center on Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park.
On 03/03 a wallet was stolen from a pair of pants in an unsecured locker at the Orange Park Surgery Center on Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park.
On 03/04 an unsecured Apple IPOD was stolen from a desk at Middleburg High School in Middleburg.
On 03/04 gasoline was siphoned from a vehicle at a residence on Silver Bell Lane in Orange Park.
On 03/04 a mailbox was stolen from a residence on Hill Road.
On 03/05 an air conditioning unit was stolen from the rear of a residence on Sapphire Lane (LAKE ROAD ESTATES) in Keystone Heights.
On 03/05 an unsecured wallet was stolen from a table at the business of T-Mobile on County Road 220 in Fleming Island/Orange Park.
On 03/06 a Florida tag was stolen from a vehicle parked along State Road 21 in Keystone Heights.
On 03/06 a motorcycle was stolen from the front yard of a residence on Hands Drive (SILVER CREEK HILLS) in green Cove Springs.
On 03/06 a puppy was stolen from a dog kennel in the front yard of a residence on Daisy Street (JACKSONVILLE SOUTH) in Middleburg.
On 03/06 a cell phone left unattended on a counter at Publix’s on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway in Orange Park was stolen.
On 03/07 a chain saw was stolen from an opened garage at a residence on Jennifer Lane in green Cove Springs.
On 03/07 a purse left unattended on a table at Happy Panda Restaurant on wells Road in Orange Park was stolen.
On 03/08 a power paint sprayer, two (2) tires and rims, and a large amount of copper wire were stolen from a utility trailer locked in a fenced area at Suncoast Industrial Services on North Industrial Loop in Orange Park. Entry was made by cutting the lock to the fenced area and the lock on the door to the utility trailer.
On 03/08 money was stolen from an unattended purse left in a desk drawer in the gym at Oakleaf Village Elementary School in Orange Park.
Burglary to Structures:
On 03/03 jewelry and coins were stolen from a residence on Southwest Nightingale Street in Keystone Heights. Entry was made by forcing a rear door.
On 03/04 a microwave oven and a refrigerator were stolen from an unoccupied residence on Johns Cemetery Road (JACKSONVILLE SOUTH) in Middleburg. The doors to the residence were open but there were no signs of forced entry.
On 03/04 tools were stolen from an open garage at a residence on Sequoia Road in Keystone Heights
On 03/04 a residence on Long Bay Road in Middleburg was burglarized. Entry was made by forcing open the rear door. Windows were broken, walls were spray painted, and toilets were broken causing water to flow throughout the residence.
On 03/04 two (2) televisions were stolen from a residence on Vassar Drive (HIGHRIDGE ESTATES) in Keystone Heights. There were no signs of forced entry.
On 03/05 an unsecured ring was stolen from a residence on Wells Road in Orange Park. There were no signs of forced entry.
On 03/05 a church was burglarized on Long Branch Road in Jennings State Forest. Entry was made by kicking in the front door and unscrewing bulbs, and moving a 30 foot roll of copper wire.
On 03/06 money was stolen from The VFW Post on South Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs. Entry was made by prying an exhaust fan from the outer wall.
On 03/08 a 46” television set was stolen from a residence on Shannon Street in Orange Park. Entry was made by
Cutting a back window screen and breaking out the window.
Burglary to Autos:
On 03/03 a portable DVD player was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Sheraton Lakes Circle (SHERATON LAKES) in Middleburg.
On 03/03 two (2) unlocked vehicles were burglarized in the driveway of a residence on Sheraton Lakes Circle (SHERATON LAKES) in Middleburg. In one vehicle, nothing was missing. In the other, a bag of jewelry and a MP3 was stolen.
On 03/03 a variety of tools were stolen from an unlocked tool box in the bed of a pickup truck at a residence on Chatauqua Way in Keystone Heights. Also, on the same street, a rifle and a bag of hunting gear was stolen from the back seat of another pickup truck parked in the driveway of a residence. It is not known if the vehicle was locked, or unlocked. There were no signs of forced entry.
On 03/03 a GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked pickup truck in the driveway of a residence on Killarn Circle in Middleburg.
On 03/03 a portable DVD player was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Sheraton Lakes Circle (SHERATON LAKES) in Middleburg.
On 03/03 textbooks, medical equipment, cash and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle that had a window rolled down in a parking lot on Wells Road in Orange Park.
On 03/04 a wallet was stolen from the center console of an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Medi-Quick clinic on Branscomb Road (LAKE ASBURY) in green Cove Springs.
On 03/06 a garage door opener was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Vineland Circle (AUTUMN GLEN- FLEMING ISLAND PLANTATION) in Orange Park.
Criminal Mischief:
On 03/04 a fence was unsecured from the fence posts at a residence on County Road 220.
On 03/05 two (2) mailboxes were damaged at two (2) residences on West Shores Road (WEST SHORES FOREST) in Orange Park.
On 03/05 paintball marks were discovered on the aerator at the water treatment facility on Knight Boxx Road in Orange Park.
On 03/07 a garage door was damaged at a residence on Loquat Court (EAST GLENHAVEN) in Green Cove Springs.
On 03/07 an orange was thrown through the front living room window at a residence on Austrian Court (PINE ISLAND) in Orange Park
